Photo battle: HTC Touch Diamond vs Apple iPhone
Engadget Chinese have an interesting collection of photos, which compare mobile phones HTC Touch Diamond and Apple iPhone…

According to Asian site, the new Taiwanese mobile phone is significantly more compact than Apple’s phone, moreover, it has much more options. Obviously, only the next generation of Apple iPhone for 3G networks can be a real competitor to HTC Touch Diamond.
It should also be noted that Apple iPhone is not fully “smart” mobile phone unlike HTC Touch Diamond, which runs under Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional.

I’m not sure I understand the comment: “…Apple iPhone is not fully “smart” mobile phone unlike HTC Touch Diamond, which runs under Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional.”
The longer I use my iPhone, the more brilliant I realize Apple’s engineers have made it. It’s a pretty amazing piece of equipment, with a better OS than I’ve encountered on any other phone.

Well, it’s smaller than iPhone and has a keyboard, so its screen is puny.
Seems to me comparing it with iPhone doesn’t make a lot of sense - for anyone who wants iPhone for its email and web browsing ability, HTC Touch Diamond is not even an option.
I checked out a magazine for Windows Mobile users the other day, and it consisted of people desperately trying to justify their choice, while admitting their phones crashed all the time, were extremely difficult to set up, and had horrible battery life.
Well, iPhone rarely crashes, is trivial to set up, is beautifully designed, and has decent battery life (certainly it looks better than Windows Mobile devices). Once iPhone’s third party applications are introduced in late June, I don’t think there will be any reason to own a Windows Mobile phone with its crude design and poor software.

The side by side comparisons make me want the iPhone more. And any speed difference will be resolved shortly.

You’ve got to be kidding?
You’re right though. The iPhone is not a smart phone. It’s a computer with a real computer operating system that includes a chip for making phone calls.
Maybe in China people think that “Window Moblie” is a plus, but in truth it’s crap. Windows Moblie has no relation to the desktop version of Windows other than in name only. Which is probably good for WM because Windows is virus ridden.
On the other hand the iPhone uses OS X a real computer operating system, plus it’s and iPod. Sorry, but the iPod is king for movies, music, and soon as a gaming platform with the 3G iPhone 2.0.
Plus what are you going to do with that TINY screen on the HTC? Yes, the iPhone is bigger because the screen is bigger and I want to see what I’m doing.
The iPhone is in a class by itself, as the only phone that can be compared to a desktop computer. You’ll see you error in judgement when the 3G iPhone comes out June 9th.

In their defense, I went to school with some Chinese students, it’s just bad english. I think they meant to say, the iPhone is not a real smart phone or less than what you’d expect of a smart phone. They seem to justify this by saying that Windows Mobile makes it a real or complete smart phone.
I guess they don’t know that the iPhone runs OS X and that the traditional desktop/menu system that Windows Mobile uses is not a plus on on a tiny screen.

Every phone that has adopted Windows Mobile finds itself in trouble. Just look at Palm.

Diamond has 4GB on plus unlimited via micro SD cards. And what kind of memory card does the iphone use? NONE because Jobs doesn’t want his customers to have any control over their own devices….

Can you install any kind of apps on your iphone? I guess no. Does it have WiFi or eGPS? doubt it
