According Louis-Pierre Wenes, executive director of Orange France, about 15000 phones were purchased by new subscribers of the company. At the same time Wenes was unable to name the number of phones that have been sold without reference to the mobile operator. French law obliges the Orange to sell the iPhone without a subscription.
