Samsung introduced 8 Mp CMOS module
Yesterday Samsung company announced about their successful development of a new 8-Mp CMOS module for digital camera in mobile phones…
New module has a size of 10.5 x 11.5 x 9.4 mm, which is comparable to the size of today’s 3 Mp camera modules. Samsung company representatives noted that the reduction in dimensions became possible through the use of Piezo technology.
Mass production of 8 Mp modules with auto-focus is scheduled for next year. Thus, in 2008 we may expect the first mobile phones equipped with an 8 MP cameras in our markets.
