O2 received exclusive right for iPhone in the UK
According to Reuters which reference to The Financial Times the British mobile operator O2, owned by Spanish telecoms group Telefonica, has entered into a partnership agreement with Apple regarding the distribution and support of iPhone…

The Financial Times refers to unnamed sources, which are most relevant to O2. The Times also claims that O2 and Apple signed an agreement.


Thus O2 will be the first exclusive mobile phone operator for iPhone in Europe. While neither Telefonica Apple did not make any official statements. The European launch of one of the best selling mobile phones is planned in the autumn. People in Asia will be able to buy it only next year. The estimated cost of iPhone in the UK is 300 pounds.
Following the announcement of the deal between Apple and O2 Telefonica shares rose in price by 0.1% and cost 16.56 euros. Meanwhile Vodafone shares fell by 1.4%. The subscriber base of O2 in the UK has 18 million people. It is the biggest operator in the Europe.
